Hey, so just an update for everyone where Elin and I are at now....
A little over a week ago, Elin and I flew home from Haugesund and Røvær. We are now back in Asker. Our summer job is over, it was a great experience for the both of us. We found out that we can actually live together, so that is great news. We want to send a special thanks to Dag and Elin for being such great hosts, and good to us all summer!
Now that we are back in Asker, my job hunting has continued and now I have a job offer in Bodø, which is far far north, right near the polar circle. The job is full time and as far as I know will be a training period for me so that MAYBE some day I can run my own hostel here in Norway? It is a great job offer but it is definitely going to be hard that Elin will be down here close to Oslo, and Ill be near the north pole, it only a 1 and half hour flight but it still seems really far away. I hope we can work it all out!
Next week, Tuesday 31st of August, Elin and I are going to Ireland for a week. It is coming up on us fast. It will be great to get away and experience something different. We do not really have a plan, except for that we have plane tickets, we have a rental car, and thats it. We will just figure it out as we go! So thats where we are at now, and look for pics and stories from Ireland next week hopefully!

8-14-2010 Fishing Trip with the Dutch
Last night, Elin and I went out on a fishing trip with Dag and two guests from The Netherlands. I added 4 more fish to my total now this summer to 5! Elin went from 1 to 4... so I am 1 up on her still :)
This is our last weekend on Røvær. We fly back to Oslo on Tuesday, then on Thursday I have a meeting with a lady from the Bodø Hostel and Friday, I think Elin and I are going to go down to Tønsberg so I can meet with the lady from that hostel. Then after those two meetings, I will have to take some time to think about where the best place for me to work will be? It will be an interesting few days... but first tomorrow, Sunday we have a Sunday cafe which will be my last chance to eat komle... This summer went way too fast... but all the fun ones do!

So today was exciting.. I was intervied on Norwegian radio for KomleJazz. There were two jazz concerts on the island today, and a huge jazz festival in Haugesund this week. I told me story about how I ended up where I am. Other than that, the radio station had a contest, they threw bottles out in the water, and I jumped in and won 2 of them. I won 2 free car washes, which is good and bad, I dont have a car, but I can give them to Elins mother and grandmother as gifts.
Out time is winding down here on the island. Tuesday we head back to Asker, then shortly after that, off to Ireland for a week. I have two leads on jobs... one in Bodø, and one in Tønsberg. I will find more info on them in the next week. But it looks like I will be staying in Norway longer!

Just another beautiful evening, I just got done running and was stretching, Elin was fishing, and she actually caught a fish... surprised us both!

Our romantic dinner with "stick" wine, its the wine with the stick on it!

8-5-2010 Canoeing in the rain
So, I worked all day today, and it rained most of the afternoon. In the evening, when I was cleaning up the kitchen, Elin came up with the idea of going for a canoe trip in the rain. The water was perfectly still except for the rain drops hitting the water and making rings. It was very peaceful. So we canoed out towards the lighthouse, and that is the direction of the sunset. Even though it was raining, the clouds to the west were breaking and the sunset was visible. I did not have my camera of course, so I drew the best I could what it looked like on my paint program. You have to forgive me, I forgot the rain drops, so just put them in there yourself.
