27-9-2010 Bodø

I have been in Bodø now for just over 2 weeks... when I got here to the hostel... nothing was done inside... it was still a construction site. I had to literally build my bed to sleep in it the first night... but it is slowly coming together... IKEA brought every piece of furniture imaginable for me to build and put in the rooms. On Friday 1 October we open. We still have alot to do with cleaning and getting all the rooms together. This last week I did not work as much because Elin came for a visit. We tried out 3 new restaurants in Bodø. It was great having her here, but now it is back to work. I am planning on flying back down to Asker in a couple weeks for a long weekend so we can be together again.. together again, together again... only Elin will understand that one! haha but here are some pics from my stay so far.

9-7-2010 Road Trip through Ireland!

Elin and I impulsively bought cheap airfare to Dublin Ireland from Oslo back in July. So from there we needed a "plan". So we rented a car and decided to figure it out when we got there. We flew into Dublin early in the morning and jumped in the Micra and drove west towards Limmerick. Then we decided to follow the west coast south down to the southwest and then back east towards Cork and back up to Dublin. We stayed in B&B`s the whole week where we stayed cheaply and got breakfast of eggs, sausage, bacon, tomato, and toast every morning. We saw a bunch of different things, we tried to take scenic routes when we could and here are some of our highlights of our trip..

Also, I thought I should mention I drove a right hand drive stick shift on the narrow roads of Ireland... I now can drive anything anywhere. As you may know, they drive on the right side of the car and on the left side of the road... here are some pics... I had a total of 274 pics of the trip, so this is just a sample.

Elin and the Micra... ou rental car.

Our very first B&B on the trip.

There was some slow play ahead of us, so we got some time to take in the view.

Elin taking a whack at the ball.

Pitch and Puttin in Ireland.

Beautiful Pitch and putt course we played, its basically a par 3 course with the holes no longer than 65 yards. They give you a wedge and putter to play.

Driving up a narrow road along the cliffs along the ocean, we passed this castle... and a few turns later up the hill, I looked in my rear view mirror and I saw it again, so I had to take a picture of it.

The famous Cliffs of Moher.

Elin and the Cliffs of Moher.

Elin`s creative photography.

The first attempt failed us cause of the wind... but we got it on this one... this is at the "secret pennisula"

Elin very carefully peaking over the cliff.

This is one of our B&B`s we stayed at.. they also had horses, and let us feed them bread. Their house is not far from the beach.

A picture Elin took by the beach.

Me jumping on the beach.

Elin jumping on the beach.

A beautiful end to a beautiful day.

Elin`s favorite beach.

The Blarney Castle.

Pulling over for a short break.

Imagine that... two Micra`s next to each other... which one is ours?

The beautiful Irish nature.

One of our beautiful B&B`s.

Elin`s beautiful photography. She LOVES the macro button.

Panoramic of the Irish south west.

A little stop on our way up Healy Pass... we are just too cool.

Beautiful weather up at Healy Pass... we were so lucky!

Elin running past the walk slow sign....

Elin after our hike in Enniskerry... we were so wet.

Just got done hiking in the pooring rain in Enniskerry, but it was so worth it!
